JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 3 :: pausing for a moment

3 Jan

{trust}

Today, I paused. Not because I planned it or prepared for it, but because I forgot something. I left something at home today so I had to run home at lunch. It was a big fat pause in my day.

It was actually an interesting experiment in time management. The world didn’t end. I didn’t miss anything. And I actually had a moment in between morning and night to stop and pause.

I am already wondering if TRUST is having me think less and go with the flow more.

Here’s to going with the flow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 349 :: christmas kindness

16 Dec
{the pause}

Today I continue the month of Christmas Kindness!

Tis the season! For winter colds. I hit the pause button again today to nurse this little cold away.

There is power in the pause. A moment to reflect, and in my case sleep. It’s a kind act. A gift really to give to yourself.

Thank you, Kindness, for so many lessons this year — and so many insights too.

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 113 :: on kindness and goals

26 Apr

Stepping back.

A theme for me this week is stepping back. Stepping back to move forward.

It’s kind of ironic for me, someone who likes to PUSH PUSH PUSH to get to the finish line. Stepping back doesn’t always feel good. It feels like wasted energy. It feels like giving up. It feels so incredibly ssssssslllllloooooooowwwww.

And yet, I’m learning, it can be so fast.

Today, I practiced stepping back. For a brief second. A millisecond. And what I found was this:

  • I relaxed
  • The world didn’t stop
  • I breathed
  • I had more energy to push forward

Aha! And there’s the golden nugget. More energy.
To move forward.

May you move forward with kindness.
And energy.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 105 :: standing out

18 Apr
Look what’s popping up over here!
We have three surprise visitors. I think they are of the poppy variety. There are just three, popping up out of the ground.

So pretty. So yellow (my favorite color!). Such a surprise.

Last year my mantra was Enjoy Simple Beauty Pause Right Now. And I have to admit it brings me bliss. Both the beauty and the pause. The tiny moment to stop and reflect. To smell the poppies if you will.  (By the way they don’t smell.)

And in that reflection I remembered something important. Being different means being brave enough to stand out amongst everyone else, so that your own true beauty shines.

Shine on.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 189 :: some bears

6 Jul

With my current mantra (enjoy simple beauty, pause right now) I am taking the time to pause.

And today, as I looked up on my drive home from the grocery story I didn’t just pause, I stopped.

I have driven by these bears so many times. Just as I was about to pass them by I remembered that word — pause. So I parked and decided to inspect.

I mean when else do you see a Harry Potter Bear sculpture?

Or a Charlotte’s Web one too?

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

{what did you pause for today?}

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 177 :: enjoy simple beauty

25 Jun

In my quest for beauty this year I have a message. It’s simple. It hangs on my office door.

It began because I wrote down a few words that seemed like good reminders for my latest medical journey (and as I go through a quest of beauty which may in fact be a journey of peak performance).

But today, all those words ran together and read like a sentence. Or a sign.

Enjoy simple beauty, pause right now.

Like a whisper, a sign, or a message:
Enjoy simple beauty, pause right now.

I’m paying attention — and reading the signs.
And pausing for simple beauty.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie
