JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 8 – DAY 38 :: the joy of showing up

7 Feb
{everyday}

Ah, perseverance. I was thinking of you today. And how much joy I get from showing up here every night. It’s not like I always have something profound to say, but I do feel the power of perseverance in this promise.

It is the power of showing up.

Joy.
I do not know where you will take me this year… but it’s already starting to get interesting.

Here’s to showing up!

More tomorrow…

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 152 :: the strength to be kind

5 Jun

Gentle.

Strength has new meaning for me. I am becoming quite aware of the strength is takes to be gentle. It is a power. A force. To be gentle and kind.

And it’s not always easy. In fact, most of the time, for me, it’s not easy. But it’s worth it. And powerful.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 71 :: tree pose

12 Mar

Day 71: Roots.

As I prepare for a little day-ending yoga I keep recalling this tree.
I spotted it today on my drive home.

It reminds me of a woman I heard speak about growing older. Her point was this: the older trees grow deeper roots, bigger trunks, thicker limbs but it helps them stay strong in the wind and the weather, and it also allows them to protect the small saplings around them too.

That’s what I think about when it feels that my limbs are getting too heavy or large. It can be comforting. But mostly, it’s a reminder of our deep power when we are rooted.

Now that makes me want to do a tree pose.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

2014 BLOG – DAY 5 :: an energy hoax, bracelets or multivitamins

5 Jan

I found myself staring at a bracelet today.

It was a power bracelet, the kind that promises better balance and energy.

Normally, I wouldn’t bat an eye at it, but today it was 80% off at Rays, the grocery store that is closing for good in our little town.

The store shelves are almost bare after being raided by the general populace in a race to win the 80% Off Race.

I admit I was one of them.

And right before me were energy bracelets. Power bracelets.

It made me stop and ponder my promise.
Peak Performance.

On the surface the bracelet seemed like a perfect fit. So I inspected further. The packaging promised more balance, more power, more energy.

I stood in the empty store holding nothing more than a rubber band in my hand trying to figure out how it would give me more energy.

In the end I didn’t buy because it seemed like a waste of money and my time — two very precious sources of energy. Instead I purchased a bottle of multivitamins.

When I arrived home tonight I “Googled” the bracelets.
As expected, they are a hoax complete with law suit from 2011.

It makes me laugh a bit because a part of me got totally sucked into the marketing. For a moment, I actually pondered if a bracelet would give me more energy. And who knows, if I THOUGHT I had more energy maybe I would … chicken ….egg  …scrambled scam?

This I know is true, nothing is more energetic than the truth.
Which also leads to peak performance…
…and personal power.

More tomorrow.
