JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 12 :: one of a kindness

11 Jan

Respect.

This landed in my lap today. Couldn’t have come at a better time.
ONE OF A KINDNESS you say? Yes! glassybaby

I’ve also been thinking a lot about respect. And the Respect Challenge I issued to myself and anyone else who wanted to join in. It’s been an interesting week, learning to choose my words carefully – and respectfully – and intentionally.

I have failed many times already. In just one week. How sad and eye opening.

But the little wins have been SO worth it. I have found that just a few words of respect create an energy of abundance. They expand. They grow into much more than just the words and their meanings. They power up and push forward. They linger in our minds.

We attach our dreams to words.
We attach our confidence to words of respect.

It has been a good lesson, this respect. It makes me wonder: What if we all chose to speak with respect? Even when we don’t agree, don’t see eye-to-eye, don’t understand, don’t get it? Especially when we feel that little evil little force inside bubbling up. pushing to break free and say something that is NOT respectful. Especially then.

And that brings me to this. I am so grateful you read this far.
You are one of a kindness.
Respectfully, yours.

More tomorrow, kind soul.
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 5 :: kindness challenge

5 Jan

Respect.

I’ve been thinking a lot about kindness – the intentional kind. I keep hearing the word RESPECT. It seems they go hand-in-hand. I’m also remembering something I know — deeply know and understand — words are free. And maybe the most powerful form of respect.

So… with that thought, tonight, I’m throwing out an Intentional Acts of Kindness Challenge!

Challenge #1:  Practice Respect:
If you choose to accept this challenge, try one of the following acts:
– admire someone with kind words
– point out a particular and appreciated detail with kind words
– use thoughtful words to compliment someone on an achievement

I will be playing along… and I would love to hear how it goes for you too. 😉
Cheers, kind soul.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie
