I didn’t sleep at all last night. Justin was up with a cold and neither one of us were able to sleep. So today I slept the afternoon away and even though I felt a large amount of guilt for not using that time to be productive or accomplish something important… it felt so good to sleep.

Sleep is amazing. And today, I’m just going to trust that sleep is what I need, with ease and grace and more sleep we can do amazing things.

So sleep it is! Sleep sweet sleep.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 18 :: trust your body

It’s Friday night, not even eleven pm and I am tired. In fact, I am ready for bed because I almost fell asleep on the couch. Twice.

So I am trusting that my body needs to sleep. 

Which is the best part of Friday night…. sleeping in on Saturday morning.

My body revels in the joy of rest. I love the days when I can sleep past 6:30 am. And, I really love the days when I can sleep in past 8:30 am. It almost feels like a vacation to have an entire Saturday morning in my pajamas. Sometimes you just gotta take the moment that joy delivers. Even if that means sleeping through it!

Sometimes the best joy is the resting kind. I am reminded of that tonight as I take a NyQuil and head to bed, early, with a few sniffles and stuffy nose.

This year is teaching me that the recipe for joy can be quite simple and easy. Even if it’s just a good night’s sleep.

Day 345: The list. 

It’s on. A 21-Day Yoga Shred. Today is officially Day 1.

And with it comes questions. Many, many questions. Primarily, what is holding you back? What are the tope 10 obstacles that keep you from total detox? Like… what is your biggest hurdle to being light and free?

For me, it’s a Top Ten list of the usual suspects.

  • Caffeine

  • Not enough water
