Tonight I learned that Insta-Joy comes straight out of an Instapot. Otherwise known as how to stave off hunger with a frozen piece of chicken in less than 20 minutes.

Sometimes I marvel at all the tools and technology and advancements we have in our modern life. With so many ways to make life easier, you would think we would also have copious amounts of joy. Or at least an appliance to plug into the wall and turn stressedoutness into joyfulness.


Joy has me thinking…there’s must be an easy way to Insta-Joy.
Maybe this year will show us?

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 345 what’s holding you back

Day 345: The list. 

It’s on. A 21-Day Yoga Shred. Today is officially Day 1.

And with it comes questions. Many, many questions. Primarily, what is holding you back? What are the tope 10 obstacles that keep you from total detox? Like… what is your biggest hurdle to being light and free?

For me, it’s a Top Ten list of the usual suspects.

  • Sugar
  • Stress
  • Note enough sleep
  • Stress
  • Caffeine
  • Stress
  • Not enough water
  • Stress

So tonight I am making my list of obstacles. And what it would take to overcome them. Or turn them around.

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 36 :: behold

Day 36. Behold.

My new favorite word. Behold.

Behold!  It’s been going through my mind for days now. Be. Hold. Be. Hold. Be. Hold.

As in… Be… breathe…be here now.
And hold…as in…receive…welcome….enjoy.

It’s as beautiful as breathing.
Breathe In.
Breathe Out.

It’s something we do automatically. Everyday. All the time. In our SLEEP! That’s pretty amazing if you stop and think about it. Behold it.

Be. Hold.
Tonight as I did my yoga and wrung out the rest of the week, let go of the hard, stressful, unpleasant, unuseful, unnecessary, I thought of the word Behold again.

It’s like the word is whispering to me. Be in this moment. Welcome the next. Rinse. Repeat. Do it again. Be. Hold.

So my dears…Happy Friday….what are you beholding?

Day 108: what are you afraid of?

What are you afraid of?

It’s a question I have been batting around for a while.

My answers really don’t make sense.
For instance, I am more afraid of a teeny, tiny spider in the corner of the room than I am of speaking in front of a room full of thousands of people.

Doesn’t compute.

Today I listened to a little Tony Robbins and was surprised to hear him say this:
“Stress is actually fear.”

It makes sense, but it’s just one of those things that is so simply obvious, it is mundane — and brilliant — at the same time.

I think I need to reevaluate my fear factors.

It’s not about what I am afraid of, but instead, what stresses me out.

The new question should be:
Where am I stressed? 

Game changer.
Light bulb.
Like I said, Tony… brilliant.
