JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 202 :: sweetness and kindness

13 Aug

Treats.

There has been a distinct theme to my last few weeks: sweetness. It seems to be all around me, especially in the form of dessert.

Today, we rounded out the week with a pie. A Strawberry Rhubarb Pie from Shari’s. It looked like this (but tasted SO much better than this photo).

It has me thinking about kindness and sweetness – and where they intersect. Maybe that’s what this year is all about? I’m sure I will find out more as the year unfolds.

Until then… here’s to dessert!

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 199 :: kind bear sightings

10 Aug

Sweet.

This is the BEST kind of bear!
My favorite. Cinnamon Bears! They are a rare thing to spot, and yet, I found them in the Denver Airport today.

Kind. Sweets.
And now… I sleep.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 7 – KINDNESS  DAY 161 :: the re-entry

2 Jul

Kind Thoughts.

It’s hard to re-enter the real world after being on top of the world.

The Sunday-night blues are real, but when it comes to kindness, my understanding is that we have to be kind to ourselves. Unconditionally kind and good and nurturing and so super sweet to ourselves.

Especially on the re-entry.
So here’s to a kind week ahead.

More tomorrow….
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 222 :: short but sweet

16 Aug
It’s late, so this is just a short but SWEET post tonight.
Strawberry shortcake. (It definitely brings me bliss.)

It’s a good, sweet reminder.
You catch more flies (and fun) with honey.

More tomorrow.

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 62 :: national pancake bliss!

3 Mar
Yesterday, I made a proclamation to stay positive. Or maybe it was to stay positively blissful. Which I tried to do today, but I must say it’s easier to stay sweet when you wake up with this!

Strawberry pancakes.

Who knew it was National Pancake Day?
Well, I guess Justin did, which is why he woke me up with this syrupy sweetness. I have to say, it was a great way to start the day.

Maybe even blissful.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 280 :: for the love of a warm gooey cookie

9 Oct

I love simply smart ideas. Things that are so simple they are brilliant. Game changers.

Like the power of a cookie — a WARM cookie.
What’s even better?  How about a WARM cookie that is delivered until 3am?

Meet  Insomnia Cookies:

My new favorite thing in Chicago.
Because it’s sweet and simple.

They were even delivered to our bowling alley tonight. Almost like magic gooey chocolate chip cookies appeared.

Which makes it brilliant (and YUMMY too!).

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie

Day 232: lovemore monday :: sweet summer nights

20 Aug

As you know, I entered this year determined to be fearless. But, I don’t want more fear or less in my life.  I want more love.  So I made up a new word, lovemore!   That’s why Lovemore Mondays are here.

Today’s Lovemore Monday is a love story about sweet summer nights.

I found this note in my email box today and it made me pause.

“As we start to approach the fall season, Ayurveda suggests to favor a more Vata pacifying diet with warmer food and drinks and more sweet, sour and salty tastes.” ~the Raj Resorts

It seems that fall is indeed approaching.

Not that one could tell by witnessing this tiny island.  We are in full high-August-summer-mode, a.k.a. an entire island’s worth of bumper to bumper traffic, lines winding out ice cream shops and beaches packed shoulder to shoulder.

But, there are other signs of fall’s approach.

My french manicure is rubbing off, as is my tan from our Grand Canyon adventure.

My friend’s are posting school bus pick up times on Facebook.

The Fair is over, Illumination Night has passed and the Fireworks Show has been shot.

Even the sky seems to be turning over a new leaf, melting into that shoulder season pink and blue.

And, I suppose that’s what really makes the approach of fall more sweet, sour and salty.

Soaking in the sweet summer island nights before they disappear.
Putting away all sour thoughts of bidding farewell to the island so we can keep enjoying the salty ocean water, while it’s still warm enough to jump in!

Because, after all, isn’t the promise of an ending what makes the beginning so significant?
And, worth it?

And, that’s why on this Lovemore Monday…
I. Love. It.
