JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 132 :: trust your inner unicorn

13 May

{trust}

Oh, trust. You are sending me on an adventure this year. Every year starts with a promise but I never really know where it is going. I am happy to say that tonight trust has brought me to a really good place and some really good news. Namely, my sister came out of surgery today with flying colors and the best prognosis possible. What a relief.

These unicorn moments in time always make me stop and think, sometimes pause. These moments also put everything on hold including our breath until we know the outcome. It reminds me that life is short and we have to trust our dreams.

Let them sweep you off your feet.

  You have time and you got this.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 129 :: trust in your dreams

10 May

{trust}

I’m turning in for the night and getting ready for sweet dreams. Which makes for a perfect Friday night: reflection, relaxation and a little dreaming.

The mountains of the week have been climbed! Monday awaits on the other side of the weekend! The adventure continues!

Which bring me to trust. We have to trust what we see on the horizon in order to keep moving toward it. You got this.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 129 :: trust in your dreams

9 May

{trust}

I have been dreaming in technicolor again. It happens from time to time where my dreams are all out movie-quality detailed, the wake up in the middle of the night or super deep sleep kind of movie dreams.

But that’s not the dreams I am thinking about tonight, I am thinking of the other, more physically manifested dreams. The future kind of dreams. They are like a delicate bubble, aren’t they? Don’t poke too hard. Don’t manipulate too much. Don’t let anything burst the bubble that hasn’t quite formed kind of delicate.

  I think that’s the power of these kind of dreams, and the lesson of trust that comes with them. They are just a container that needs to be protected, nourished and allowed to expand so they can catch air and float on the wind.

Keep dreaming!

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 125 :: trust yourself

7 May

{trust}

I attended a networking event in Boston tonight, full of amazing women in marketing. All “marketeers” and yet all superwomen at the same time too. The amount of knowledge and experience was amazing and it reminded me that we all have to trust what we know because no one else can.

  It truly is our job to trust ourselves. Trust must be earned when it comes to another human being, but it is bestowed upon oneself.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 119 :: trust is a process

30 Apr

{trust}

It’s been a busy day and with trust on top of my mind as I am curled in bed thinking about the power of trusting the process, trusting the timing, and trusting the adventure. It takes a lot of trust to do those three things…and to take the first step, next step, final step.

Trust is a process that blooms when you begin. Start now, bloom where you are and trust what is next.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 118 :: trust in starting over

29 Apr

{trust}

Ah, Monday! The best thing I have to say to you is, thank you. Thank you for the chance to start over, to begin again, to look at the world (and all my work, responsibilities, commitments, plans, goals, dreams, promises) with new eyes.

You do this to me every week. Every seven days. You pop up and remind me that I am starting over, with a jolt, or wake up call, to say the weekend is fleeting. That IKEA project is still looming, those papers are still sitting and those meetings are still waiting for me.

But seriously, thank you. I mean it from the bottom of my heart, Monday. Every week needs a restart button. A space and moment in time to get a fresh perspective before returning to the desk/chair/seat/car/path where I have been, and Monday, you always deliver.

  Monday, you seriously get a bad reputation. But I have to say, you are always at the beginning, the starting point of something great. A reoccurring new beginning and a chance to start over even if it is for a brief moment organizing my desk and my brain and my week.

So… thank you. I mean it.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 117 :: trust in DIY

28 Apr

{trust}

It was an IKEA day, after an OrangeTheory day, after a protein pancake day. I have to say I love them all not in any particular order. But at the end of a my-hand-are-soar-from-twisting-little-IKEA-tools I have to say I am only 1/3 of the way done. Never fear I will finish the project maybe over days and possibly weeks.

It reminds me that it takes a lot of trust to go head over heels into IKEA project mode. I haven’t been in this place for a while but when in Rome… trust your inner D.I.Y.

  The end product will be worth it but for now, I’m stuck in the middle trying to trust my DIY dreams.
Now excuse me as I clean up my mess… for tonight.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Lovemore,
Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 9 – DAY 112 :: float on the water

22 Apr

{trust}

It poured rain today. Buckets of rain fell from the sky all day long. It made me think about April showers and those promised May flowers.

  And it makes me want to scream: The flowers are coming! The flowers are coming!

Until then, we wait. We float on the water, swim with abandon and trust the tide will pull us forward on the path to spring blossoms and a beautiful future.

Trust me!
More tomorrow.

Jamie

JAMIE’S BLOG – DAY 25 :: birthday eve #yougotthis

25 Jan
It’s my birthday eve. So this weekend I treated myself to some of the things that bring me bliss, all in prep for the birthday “day” (which being on a Monday makes it somewhat of a, well, not a Friday).

Some of my favorite moments:
– Spa!
– Hair!
– Nails!
– Mocha!
– Chinese Take Out!
– Movie!
– Justin’s homemade dinner!

But I have to admit, I feel pretty neutral about this birthday. Maybe because it’s hard to beat the surprise party my besties threw last year that left me in total shock. And in an absolute bubble of love. Good thing too. Less than a month later I was diagnosed with a lump in my left breast and ushered into my 40th year with a handful of surgeries.

So this year, I’m celebrating The Big Day by trying to enjoy the everyday.  Like taking a second away from my phone and email to make a moment for day dreaming at the spa. Like noticing how soft my hair was after a new cut and color, each strand tamed and silky smooth. Like marveling at the way the Chinese Take Out box was perfectly stacked as not to spill on the way home.

I even had a deep belly laugh at the message on top of my coffee cup this weekend, as it reflected back to me the words, “You Got This” since that was my mantra last year.

Because if there is one truth I am understanding more and more with age, it’s that turning a year older is a privilege, not a right (thank you DMV manual for that nugget of wisdom!).

It’s interesting…. the things that bring me bliss are getting more simple each year.

But some things never change. Tonight I am breathing deeply to reflect on the incredible appreciation I have for lifelong soul mates, new adventures, and old friends. Here’s to another year.

It’s a privilege.
And a pleasure.

More tomorrow.
Lovemore,
Jamie
