JAMIE’S BLOG – YEAR 6 – YOGA DAY 47 :: eat your cake

Day 47. Happy, happy, yum, yum.

I think I ate an entire chocolate cake. All by myself.

Well, almost by myself. Justin assures me that he had, at least, one slice (so there’s hope in that!) but overall, I ate the cake. And in record time. I think I ate an entire chocolate cake between Valentine’s Day and today.

Cake was meant to be eaten, I’m sure of it (and can prove it apparently if you place one in front of me or in the near vicinity of a refrigerator in my kitchen it will disappear).

God made cake to be eaten. I’m sure of that too.

And that has me thinking… why can’t we have our “cake” and eat it too? Cake makes me happy. And I like being happy. There are other things that make me happy too… not all have icing on top, but certainly they are sweet (puppies, babies, walks in the forest, spotting heart rocks that the ocean tide left behind, flowers, beautiful things… and now, yoga!).

Oh, there is so much CAKE.
So… here’s to cake!
And enjoying it too.

Jamie’s BLOG – DAY 199 :: it’s magic, a.k.a. justin gave me the recipe

Okay, so you asked for it! Well, maybe you didn’t ask for it, but tons of people have so….

I begged Justin for the recipe. He found a few online and then whipped together his version of it. Below. For you. A gift of sorts. Most definitely beautiful.

watermelon jalapeño mojito

1. Make simple sauce

  • 1/2 cup stevia
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 jalapeño slice

Boil in a sauce pan and simmer for 5 minutes or until it turns saucy. Refrigerate.

Justin’s note: take seeds out if you don’t want it to be spicy.

2. Mix drink

  • place 5-6 leaves in glass
  • add shot of lime
  • add rum of choice
  • add simple syrup
  • puree watermelon and pour over leaves
  • sparkling water
  • garnish with watermelon wedge and mint leaf

DRINK more, love more!
